Super Strong Machine

(first of all: sorry for my English :) )

Super Strong Machine is a successful gimmick created by the Puroresu (japanese term for "professional wrestling") veteran Junji Hirata in the mid '80. With this character, Hirata competed in both of the major Japanese wrestling federations (New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling) winning respectively the IWGP Tag Team Championship (three times) and the AJPW All Asia Tag Team Championship (one time).
Nowadays Super Strong Machine is part of the Blue Justice Army (known as "Seigigun" in Japan), a New Japan Pro Wrestling stable led by Yuji Nagata.

"Why a wrestler in this blog?"

Good question.
The main reason for this choice is because I am a big fan of Pro Wrestling in general, but the thing that I like to point out in this post is the fact that, in my humble opinion, comics (especially superheroes comics) and Pro Wrestling (or Sport Entertainment) occasionally connect to each other, and I think that Super Strong Machine is a perfect example.

Ehi, ve l'avevo detto che era una piccola novità no?

Comunque sia, da oggi in poi, l'inglese sarà la lingua predominante nei post (i quali non saranno tutti lunghi come questo), ma non temete, almeno una cosa in italiano la continuerò a scrivere.

HAUNT

         




















In breve: Haunt è stato creato da Todd Mcfarlane (il creatore di Spawn) e Robert Kirkman (il creatore di The Walking Dead ed Invincible) ed è stato protagonista di una serie iniziata nel 2009 e conclusa nel 2012 dopo 28 numeri. Haunt è la combinazione dei fratelli Killgore. Daniel (un prete) è il corpo mentre il fratello morto Kurt (un mercenario) è l'ectoplasma che lo riveste.

La breve durata della serie di Haunt può essere riconducibile al fatto che, sin dagli inizi, quest'ultimo è stato visto come una copia di alcuni eroi già esistenti: Spawn, Venom e L'Uomo Ragno, tanto da venir definito da Greg Capullo (uno dei disegnatori della serie) "Spidey-Spawn".

...ma il blog non se ne va (anche se, diciamocelo, da giugno si è preso una bella vacanza).

E quale miglior modo di tornare sul blog se non presentandovi un disegno fatto per un manifesto riguardante una festa che celebra un Lazzaretto?

( Si, proprio il luogo dove venivano relegati i portatori di malattie contagiose, come la peste. Se ne parla ne "I Promessi Sposi" ad esempio. )
